1. Agreement to Terms
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) constitute a legally binding agreement between you (“User”, “you”, or “your”) and Zonko Labs Private Limited (“Company”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) governing your access to and use of the Rumi mobile application (“App”) and all related services (collectively, the “Service”).
By downloading, installing, or using the App, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the Service.

3. Service Description
Rumi is an AI companion chat application that enables users to engage in meaningful conversations with AI-powered companions. The Service includes, but is not limited to, the following features:
- AI Chat Companions: Conversational AI characters with distinct personalities, backstories, and conversational styles
- Voice & Text Messaging: Ability to communicate with companions via text messages and voice messages
- Multilingual Support: Conversations in Hindi, English, and Hinglish (a blend of Hindi and English)
- Stories & Memories: Shared narratives and memory-based interactions that evolve over time based on your conversations
- Companion Profiles: Detailed profiles for each AI companion, including personality traits, interests, and background information
The specific features, capabilities, and availability of the Service may change over time as we continue to develop and improve the App. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature at any time without prior notice.
4. Eligibility
To use the Service, you must:
- Be at least 13 years of age
- If you are between 13 and 18 years of age, have the consent of a parent or legal guardian to use the Service
- Have a valid mobile phone number capable of receiving SMS verification
- Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement under applicable law
- Not be prohibited from using the Service under any applicable law
By using the App, you represent and warrant that you meet all of the foregoing eligibility requirements. If we discover or have reason to believe that you do not meet these requirements, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account immediately.
5. Account Registration
To access the Service, you must create an account by providing certain personal information during the onboarding process, including:
- Your name
- Your age
- Your mobile phone number
You agree that:
- All information you provide during registration is accurate, current, and complete
- You will promptly update your information if it changes
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account
- You will notify us immediately at support@zonko.ai if you become aware of any unauthorized use of your account or any other security breach
- You may not create more than one account per person, share your account with others, or transfer your account to another person
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that contain inaccurate information, are inactive for extended periods, or are otherwise in violation of these Terms.
6. Subscription & Payment
Rumi may offer certain premium features, content, or services on a subscription basis or as one-time purchases (“Paid Services”). Pricing and available plans will be displayed within the App.
- Billing: All payments for Paid Services are processed through Google Play billing. By subscribing to or purchasing Paid Services, you agree to the applicable pricing and payment terms as presented to you at the time of purchase.
- Recurring Subscriptions: If you purchase a subscription, it will automatically renew at the end of each billing cycle (weekly, monthly, or annually, as applicable) unless you cancel it before the renewal date.
- Price Changes: We may update the pricing for Paid Services from time to time. Any price changes will take effect at the start of your next billing cycle following notice of the change.
- Taxes: You are responsible for all applicable taxes, duties, and levies associated with your purchase, except taxes based on our net income.
- Free Trials: We may offer free trial periods for certain Paid Services. At the end of a free trial, you will be automatically charged the applicable subscription fee unless you cancel before the trial ends.
7. Refund Policy
Refunds for purchases made through the App are subject to the following:
- Google Play Refunds: Refund requests for subscriptions and in-app purchases are primarily handled through Google Play in accordance with Google’s refund policies. You may request a refund directly through the Google Play Store.
- Direct Refund Requests: If you believe you are entitled to a refund that is not covered by Google Play’s standard refund process, you may contact us at support@zonko.ai within 24 hours of the transaction. We will review your request on a case-by-case basis.
- Non-Refundable Items: Fees for partially used subscription periods, features that have already been accessed or consumed, and change-of-mind purchases are generally non-refundable except where required by applicable law.
Where a refund is approved, it will be processed to your original payment method. Please allow up to 5–10 business days for the refund to appear in your account.
8. Subscription Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time through the Google Play Store subscription management settings on your device. To cancel:
- Open the Google Play Store app on your Android device
- Tap your profile icon, then tap “Payments & subscriptions” > “Subscriptions”
- Select the Rumi subscription and tap “Cancel subscription”
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the cancellation
Upon cancellation, your subscription will remain active until the end of the current billing period. You will continue to have access to Paid Services until that date, after which your account will revert to the free tier. Cancellation does not entitle you to a refund of any fees already paid.
Uninstalling the App does not automatically cancel your subscription. You must cancel through the Google Play Store to stop future charges.
9. User Content & License
“User Content” refers to any content you submit, upload, transmit, or otherwise make available through the Service, including but not limited to:
- Text messages and conversation content
- Voice messages and audio recordings
- Profile information and preferences
- Feedback, ratings, and suggestions
You retain ownership of your User Content, subject to the rights granted herein. By submitting User Content, you grant Zonko Labs a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable, and transferable licence to use, reproduce, process, adapt, store, and display your User Content solely as necessary to:
- Operate, provide, and maintain the Service
- Generate AI responses and personalize your companion experience
- Improve and develop the Service and underlying AI models
- Comply with applicable law and enforce these Terms
- Prevent abuse, fraud, and security threats
You represent and warrant that you have all rights necessary to grant the above licence, and that your User Content does not violate any applicable law or the rights of any third party.
10. Prohibited Activities
You agree not to engage in, and not to encourage or facilitate others to engage in, any of the following prohibited activities:
- Harassment & Abuse: Using the Service to harass, bully, threaten, stalk, or intimidate any person, including other users or the AI companions
- Illegal Content: Submitting, generating, or distributing content that is illegal, defamatory, obscene, pornographic, or promotes violence, hatred, or discrimination
- Impersonation: Impersonating any person or entity, or falsely claiming an affiliation with any person or entity
- AI System Abuse: Attempting to manipulate, exploit, or misuse the AI system, including prompt injection attacks, jailbreaking attempts, or efforts to extract training data or model parameters
- Reverse Engineering: Decompiling, disassembling, reverse engineering, or otherwise attempting to discover the source code, algorithms, or underlying models of the Service
- Automated Access: Using bots, scrapers, or other automated tools to access the Service without our prior written consent
- Spam & Fraud: Using the Service to send unsolicited messages, engage in phishing, or perpetrate fraud or scams
- Security Violations: Attempting to probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service or circumventing any security or access control measures
- Harmful Use: Using the Service to generate content intended to cause real-world harm, including misinformation, instructions for illegal activities, or content that exploits minors
- Commercial Misuse: Using the Service for any unauthorized commercial purpose, including reselling access or using AI-generated content for competing products or services
We reserve the right to investigate suspected violations and take appropriate action, including removing content, suspending or terminating accounts, and cooperating with law enforcement where required by law.
11. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer
The Service uses artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies to generate responses, stories, and other content (“AI-Generated Content”). You acknowledge and agree that:
- AI-Generated Content is produced by probabilistic models and may not always be accurate, complete, current, or reliable
- AI companions are fictional characters and do not represent real persons, professionals, or entities
- AI-Generated Content is not a substitute for professional advice, including but not limited to medical, legal, financial, psychological, or therapeutic advice
- You should not rely on AI-Generated Content for making important decisions or in situations where inaccurate information could cause harm
- Similar or identical AI-Generated Content may be provided to different users, and we do not guarantee exclusivity or originality
- We do not endorse, verify, or guarantee the accuracy of any AI-Generated Content
If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, please contact a qualified professional or an emergency helpline in your area. Rumi is not a crisis intervention tool and should not be used as such.
12. Intellectual Property
All intellectual property rights in and to the Service, including but not limited to the App, its software, code, algorithms, AI models, designs, graphics, logos, user interface, text, audio, and visual content (excluding User Content), are and shall remain the exclusive property of Zonko Labs Private Limited and its licensors.
- “Rumi” is a trademark of Zonko Labs Private Limited. You may not use the Rumi name, logo, or any related branding without our prior written permission.
- The AI companion characters, their names, likenesses, personalities, and associated content are proprietary to Zonko Labs.
- No rights are granted to you under any patents, copyrights, trade secrets, trademarks, or other intellectual property rights, whether by implication, estoppel, or otherwise, except as expressly stated in these Terms.
13. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE, INCLUDING ALL AI-GENERATED CONTENT, IS PROVIDED ON AN “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW:
- We disclaim all warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and title
- We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, accurate, or free of harmful components
- We do not warrant that AI-Generated Content will meet your expectations or requirements
- We do not warrant that any data or content stored within the Service will not be lost, corrupted, or damaged
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties. In such cases, the exclusions above apply to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.
14. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW:
- Zonko Labs, its directors, officers, employees, contractors, agents, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenues, goodwill, data, or business opportunities, arising out of or in connection with your use of or inability to use the Service, whether based on contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or any other legal theory, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages
- Our total aggregate liability for all claims arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms shall not exceed the greater of: (a) the total amount you paid to us for the Service during the six (6) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim; or (b) INR 5,000 (Indian Rupees Five Thousand)
These limitations apply to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law and regardless of whether any limited remedy fails of its essential purpose. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
15. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time by contacting us at support@zonko.ai.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service (in whole or in part) at any time, with or without notice, including where:
- You breach these Terms or any applicable law
- Your use of the Service poses a security risk or could adversely impact the Service, other users, or third parties
- Your account has been inactive for an extended period
- We are required to do so by law, regulation, or governmental authority
- We decide to discontinue the Service or any part thereof
Upon termination:
- Your right to access and use the Service will cease immediately
- We may delete your account data, including conversation history, voice messages, and companion memories, subject to our data retention obligations under applicable law
- Any outstanding payment obligations will survive termination
- The following sections will survive termination: User Content & License, Intellectual Property, Disclaimer of Warranties, Limitation of Liability, Governing Law, and any other provisions that by their nature should survive
16. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.
Any dispute, controversy, or claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service, including its existence, validity, interpretation, performance, breach, or termination, shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.
You agree to submit to the personal jurisdiction of such courts and waive any objection to the venue of proceedings in such courts on the grounds of forum non conveniens or any other basis.
17. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify, update, or replace these Terms at any time at our sole discretion. When we make changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
For material changes, we may provide additional notice through the App (such as an in-app notification or a pop-up upon your next use) or by other means as required by applicable law.
Your continued use of the Service after the updated Terms become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Service and delete your account.
